Dear fellow surfskaters,

It's been a while since last time I posted about my prototype trucks, now I'm very excited to share some lastest news with you guys.

The first pair of prototype trucks I made 8 months ago worked out pretty well, which gave me a lot of confidence to move on and pursue perfection out of these trucks. I have been constantly working on improving and fine tuning the products during the past 8 months, and thanks to the 3D printing technology which enables me to rapid iterations based on tests and new ideas. I would say now I'm pleased with the results and am ready to launch the products.

My ultimate goal is to design and make a pair of high performance, high quality, hassle free, versatile, highly customizable, and yet affordable bushing based trucks which can be used for surfskating, doing skate tricks, commuting and entry level LDP.

Here are some features of the trucks:

Adjustable hanger width (142, 148, 154, 160mm) through spacers to fit difference decks or to suit various needs. Narrower or wider hangers will be available in the future.
Low ride height at 66mm, and come with different stacks of pads to fit different sizes of wheels.
The rear truck has an adjustable pivoting angle from 20 degree to 40 degree.
Double spherical bearings by default - extremely low friction and smooth rides assured. The spherical bearing inside the bushing seat can also be replaced with a Riptide Kore bushing to offer a more stable ride.
Support different shapes of the bushings to suit your own needs:

Front truck

BS: Tall Cone, Tall Barrel; With shim, Cone, Barrel.
RS: Cone, Barrel.
Rear truck

BS: Tall Cone, Tall Barrel, Tall Fatcone, Tall Chubby; With shim, Cone, Barrel, Fatcone, Chubby;
RS: Cone, Barrel.
Stock with Riptide APS bushings.
No hard stops, and the hanger will turn until the range of motion of the spherical bearing is fully utilized ( or for the front truck when the bushing seat hit the BS bushing).
Both trucks have positive trail, so NO wobble at speed or dropping in.
Totally grindable.
The rear truck will fit on a drop-through deck.

The trucks will be manufactured by forged 6061-T6 aluminium and then CNC milled, with sandblasted anodized finish. The best of both worlds - strong and precise! The kingpins are made by SCM435 alloy steel, and the wheel axle studs are made by SCM440, both are of grade 8. Titanium wheel axle studs upgrades will be available in the future.

After extensive tests and research, I had decided to drop the idea of using an inverted kingpin. So far on the market, only Indy has a proper design to ensure the inverted kingpin will not easily come loose and rattle with a specialized insert nut. All others (e.g. Krux) the inverted kingpin will be loose and has a lot of play in the baseplate which not only put all precision designs to waste but also greatly increase the risk of snapping the kingpin under high load. So I chose to go with the tried and true press-in kingpin, but again, you have enough clearance of the hangers for grinding.

For the brand, I would call it "Synergy" by which I believe the front truck and the rear should work together in harmony, and the rider and the board become one. The logo is basically an infinity loop formed by wave and ramp. The front truck I would call it 'Solo' since it's a single axis truck, and the rear truck's called 'Chorus'.

The price point of the whole set (front & rear) will be around USD200. I'm thinking of kickstarting with a crowd funding in the next few months.

What do you guys think? How do you like the trucks? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks for bearing with me to this point. Pls kindly leave a comment to let me know. Thank you so much!
